  2. Lykke Li - Youth Novels

    Lykke Li - Youth NovelsThis was recommended to me in Mixmag ages ago. After a couple of listens I’m now starting to really enjoy it. The Swedish may be rubbish at most Olympic sports but they can certainly do pop. I’m classifying this as pop as even though it has got a slightly electronic element, it is about 50 BPM too slow to be considered even slightly dancey by me.

    Although Youth Novels is more down tempo than either of their efforts, I’ll wager both Lily Allen and Kate Nash went home and had a little cry for their souls after hearing this album. The little Swedish pop pixie is even giving away a free album track on Last.fm called Dance Dance Dance so you can try before you buy.

    The highlight for me is the track Breaking it Up. I recommend you give this album a hearing.

  3. Top 30 Kids TV Intros

    My Old Dear, bless her cottons, got me a children’s TV DVD for my birthday. To be honest, I’ve been afraid to open it. Maybe it isn’t as good as I remember it? Turns out, I need not have worried. What an immense introduction it had! Children’s TV intros, they made the programs really, didn’t they? I have spent weeks trawling around YouTube trying to find my favourites. So, here they are in top 30 order. This is a blog after all.

    Read on, it’s worth it, trust me.
